  1. Right now I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by J.K Rowling. Right now it is the day after Mr. Crouch has attacked Krum, Harry, Ron and Hermoine are at Owlery. They are sending an update to their friend, Sirius Black on what has been happening and all the strange things that go on in their lives.Fred and George enter the Owlery discussing blackmail and preparing to send a letter, in the end none of them say anything. Later that morning, Harry, Ron, and Hermione visit Professor Moody, who reports that Mr. Crouch did not show up on the Marauder's Map. They find that this is very odd because all people show up on the map at all times, unless in a invisibility cloak. Later in the day Harry is told by a teacher that he should be especially careful and later in the day he gets a letter from Sirius Black saying that he should also be careful.
  2. So far my opinion of the book is quite good. I really love how Rowling really makes you feel like your inside the book its self, also when she writes it feels like your in the shoes of the characters. I have always liked the way the Rowling writes but in this book I have really felt that I like her writing two times more than I ever had. That could be because the plot of this book is quite good, but most books by Rowling have very good plots, but I feel that this book really helps backup the third books and helps finalize some unfinished parts. Some things that I did not really like was how some characters were portrayed as evil or creepy, but in the end show that they really are good people.
  3. A theme that I have noticed in the book is persistence. You can see this theme in lots of parts in this book. The biggest part that you can see in the book is during the "games" of the Goblet of Fire. When Harry is in the maze searching for the cup and he persistently keeps trying to find the cup but is unable because of the hedges being enchanted with magic and reaching out as people go by and trying to pull them over. Somehow he finds the cup and is teleported by a port key into a graveyard and find his nemesis, Voldemort. Voldemort ends up killing another contestant when he tries to kill Harry. But Harry persistently keeps fighting him and he survives.
  4. Throughout the book I would have to say that Ron is my favorite character. Ron throughout this book and the previous books has always astounded me. He is not a very bright kid but he is always trying to help people. Also he is always trying to be a good friend to Harry by inviting him to his poor family over winter break in hopes that he, Harry and Hermoine can spend the break together. Also since Ron is not very wealthy he always has sub-par wizard things. He has clothes that his brother has worn and his presents are usually made by his mother. Ron is a very nice guy and he is very funny, that is why I chose him.
  5. So far in this book i have several characters that I do not particularly like when they are involved. But if I would have to choose it would have to be Malfoy. In my eyes he is the antagonist who is always trying to annoy the protagonist Harry. Also since Malfoy s dad is so rich and powerful, Malfoy thinks that he can do whatever he wants. Also he likes to bully all the kids on the gryffindor team because he thinks that they are all bad wizards because they are on gryffindor not slytherin. Malfoy also is horribly mean to Harry and Ron's friend Hermoine because she is a mud blood because neither of her parents were wizards and that both Malfoy's parents are very well known wizards.
  6. I think that at the end of the book there will be something really strange happening to some of the major characters. I think that something will happen to Harry that will end up changing his whole life at Hogwart's. Or maybe a new character will be introduced and they will do something that no one will have ever seen coming. There are many things that could happen and there are many clues throughout the book but the main thing that I think could happen is someone very close to Harry either presents themselves to him or they will be killed by someone or something. Also I think that maybe Voldemort will come back and try to kill Harry while he is sleeping at Hogwarts's, but he will be thwarted by one of the teachers or a student.

  4. Dear Bween,

I feel the same way about the book. Your blog is very good! It has a lot of substance to it, which is a good thing. You really got into detail and backed up all your examples with evidence and good opinion. I also completely agree with how Rowling “puts you in the shoes of the character" you really feel how the character feels in various occasions. One thing I that I disagree on is, that I really like when characters are portrayed as creepy. It makes the book a little bit more interesting when you have couple of characters out of sorts or come off strange. But over all you did a really good job on the blog. I agree with you on a lot of things. If I wrote a blog on this book it wonld be very similar to this.

    Great job,

  5. Dear Ben,
I thought your blog was really mature and impressive. I agree with you on a lot of the things you said and I really enjoyed this book to. Actually not only did I enjoy this book but it is one of my favorites in the whole series. You and Raffi said that J.K Rowling really brings you into the characters and makes you feel like you are “taking a walk in there shoes” I really had never thought of the book in this way but is your thoughts are spot on. I think with all of her novels this could not be truer. When the characters in the story are happy or sad you feel it with them. When you read this book it is like a roller-coaster of events that the characters take you on and I think your post really showed this. Your post really made me want to revisit this series because it made me remember why I loved her stories so much. I am so excited for when you finish the series because I really want to talk about the books with you!
    Nice Job,

  6. Dear Ben,
Your blog is great! I think you really understood the book well. I enjoyed the book as well, and I think this is one of the best books in the series. I also agree that Ron is my favorite character. I feel so, because he is funny, and he makes do with his sup par "wizard things" and does not complain. I disagree with your least favorite character, however. I dislike Snape the most, because he is cruel to Harry, and is overall not very friendly or kind. I think that you did a great job on the blog, and I agree with you for the most part.

    Awesome job,
